Random voice chat
A real voice and a real laugh, with your camera off. Free one-to-one voice calls with strangers in your browser.
Talk without being seen
Voice chat is for when you want a real conversation but not a camera. Velvet connects you to one random person for an audio-only call. Your camera stays off the whole time.
Good for
- Practising a language with a native speaker.
- Late-night conversations when video feels like too much.
- Slow or busy networks: voice uses a fraction of the data video does.
Clear audio, low delay
Calls go directly between the two browsers using WebRTC with echo cancellation and noise suppression built into the browser. With no server in the middle, the delay between you is mostly the distance between you.
You decide how it goes
Mute yourself any time, skip with Next or end with Stop. Report and Block end the call immediately, and that person is never matched with you again. Calls are not recorded.
Who you meet
Pick everyone, women or men, worldwide or your country, and add interests. All of it is free, and filters relax after a few seconds if nobody fits, unless you choose to wait for an exact match.
